Alexa vs Google Assistant
People of the world either have one or the other, Alexa or Google Assistant. Both devices have their own pros and cons, but no matter the cons both are being sold consistently.
First we have the Alexa, made through Amazon in 2014, but became a big craze in 2018 through the Amazon Echo Dot. The Echo Dot comes with Alexa to be in any room in your household and with it you can ask Alexa to play music, answer questions, read the news, check the weather, set alarms, control compatible smart home devices, call and message, turn on lights, adjust thermostats, lock doors, find TV shows, check traffic, look up movie times, and more with compatible connected devices as said on Amazon. Alexa is said to be adding new skills like tracking fitness, game-play, and can stream songs from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, SiriusXM, and listen to Audible, podcasts, radio stations, or pair with Fire TV to voice control movies and entertainment through the Echo Dot’s improved speakers so, you could fill up your whole room or house with whatever your listening to. Echo and Alexa are also built with multiple layers of protection and privacy controls. The Amazon Echo Dot cost can range between $179.99 and less depending on what you get. Compared to a Google Home, the Echo is $50 more to a $129.00
Google Assistant is the 2016 virtual assistant that really boomed in 2018 being on the Google Home device. The Google Assistant, much like Alexa, can accessed in all rooms through the Google Home and on all Google involved devices. With Google Assistant whatever you share with it will be protected and at any time can be managed or deleted from its software and through the Google Home you can ask Google Assistant to dim your lights, play your favorite music on apps like Spotify, stream Netflix, or look up restaurants for their menus or to order.
Personally, I’ve only used Google Assistant because it’s on my phone, but i rarely use it. At most I’ve programmed it to tell me daily jokes and I’ve played games with it, but i do believe that it is very helpful just as much as Alexa, Siri, and all the other programs out there. Which is better for you, Google Assistant or Alexa?
