When it comes to which chicken nuggets are the best, some may say McDonalds or Chick-Fil-A, but there are lesser-known places that could make the best. I put a test between these fast food places, as well as a couple of others to find out who really has the best chicken nugget.
Each nugget was judged on appearance, which would account for 15 points; crispiness/crunch accounted for 15; taste accounted for 20; meat quality accounts for 15; juiciness accounts for 10; sauce compatibility accounts for 10; size & portion also accounts for 10. Temperature accounts for only five for a total of 100 points. The five fast food restaurants that were compared and ranked were Chick-Fil-A, McDonalds, Burger King, Jack In a Box and Wendy’s.
The scoring was decided by what part of a chicken nugget has the biggest impact on how good it is. That is why taste makes up for the most points and temperature for the least amount because nuggets usually come out warm, and temperature does not have as big of a role as taste. The ranking of these nuggets all occurred at the same time.
At the end of the ranking, the best chicken nuggets were (in order): Chick-Fil-A, McDonalads and Jack in the Box tied for second and Wendy’s and Burger King tied for last. Chick-fil-A took the most points in the categories of appearance with 14/15, taste with 19/20, meat quality with a max score of 15 and max score of five for temperature. Chick-Fil-A ended its ranking with a total score of 89 points. Both Jack in the Box and Mcdonalds scored a total of 79 points, though both exceeded in different areas. McDonald’s nuggets excelled in sauce compatibility, scoring a 10/10, and taste, a 18/20, meanwhile Jack in the Box earned points for their crispy texture, a 10/15, and reliable meat quality with a 14/15.
The two fast food chains that fell behind in the race were Wendy’s and Burger King. The most notably positive part about Wendy’s nuggets was its juiciness, which was 8/10. What kept Wendy’s far from first place was the nuggets’ size, which got a 6/10, and its sauce compatibility, which also received a 6/10. For this, Wendy’s wound up with an overall score of 70. Burger King didn’t have much success overall in any of the categories. Their nuggets had a low score in temperature with a 1/5 and a 5/10 in sauce compatibility. Overall, Burger King wound up with a total score of 65.
In conclusion, what could be learned from this chicken nugget ranking is that all restaurants have different styles to their nuggets. While some are successful with the making of their nuggets, others may struggle to have their own technique. Based on this ranking, in order to have the best overall experience with chicken nuggets, Chick-Fil-A would be the go-to stop.
