First Year Coach Leads Volleyball Team to an Historic Season
First year head coach Madeline Odom led the team to a first place finish in district which is the best finish in school history.
The team finished with a 11-1 record in district. Their only loss came from rival school Summer Creek.
During the season the team went on a eight game winning streak, which no team in school history had done before.
“If you would have told me we would’ve won district and been so successful, at the beginning of the year, I probably wouldn’t have agreed with you” Coach Odom said. “My girls are super resilient.”
The post season was lack luster with the girls getting knocked out by Clear Springs High School in the Area round of the playoffs. They are bi-district champs.
Coach Odom is now focused on the offseason as big pieces in her team are graduating. She prioritized “getting into the weight room” and “transitioning” her sophomore and junior players.
