1st Pep Rally!

For the first pep rally of the year here at Atascocita High School we celebrate the upcoming football game against the Katy Taylor Mustangs and all the achievement’s of the other sports teams we have. Mr. Davis, a Spanish teacher and the man who runs our pep rally’s, starts the pep rally off with pitting the different grades against each other in a pep off. The different grades all see how loud we can be singing “We’re pretty we dominate the city ocita-atas-cocita!”. Mr. Davis then introduces the Atascocita High School football team as we all cheer when they walk out. He also introduces the Atascocita Volleyball team, the cheerleaders, and the patriots, all of them introducing themselves or performing for us. Our class representatives played a game of real-life hungry hungry hippos and finally the pep rally, like always, is closed out with our school song as we all hook arms and sing along.

Atascocita Eagles Vs. Katy Taylor Mustangs

In the first football game of the 2018-2019 school year, the Atascocita Eagles varsity football team faced the Katy Taylor Mustangs football team on Friday August 31st at Turner Stadium. While the Katy Taylor Mustangs are ranked 32 in state the Atascocita Eagles are still ranked higher at 30 in state so of course our team The Eagles take the win with a score of 16-0. In the 1st quarter we scored no points, the 2nd quarter we scored 7 points, 3rd quarter 2 points, and 4th quarter 7 points. We have so many talented players on our Atascocita football team that all put in hard work to bring the Eagles to victory.

The contribution made by the coaches is astounding, they put a lot of time and effort into getting the players into fighting shape and preparing them to completely demolish their opponents. There were plenty of tackles, dog piles, and touchdowns that brought our team to victory.

During half time, the players went to rest and prepare for the rest of the game, meanwhile, the Patriettes and band entertained us with music and dance routines. The Eagles after having rested and becoming reenergized came back strong defeating Katy Taylor’s team.

On Saturday, Sept. 1, at Rice Stadium, the college football teams the Houston Cougars go head to head with the Rice Owls, the Houston Cougars ultimately being the victors with a score of 45-27. In the 1st and 2nd quarters it seemed that Rice would be the winners with Rice in the lead with a score of 7-3 in the 1st quarter and 17-14 in the 2nd quarter. However the 3rd quarter seemed to be the turning point for the Houston Cougars they overtook the Rice Owls with a score of 14-3 in the 3rd quarter and a score of 14-0 in the 4th quarter, ultimately winning the game for the Houston Cougars.

The Rice Vs.
